Trademarks

1. The trade mark.

1.1. For label applications 15 prints are needed.
1.2. If combination in colour is claimed 15 prints in colour and 15 in black and white are needed

2. Full name, address and nationality of the applicant.

3. Power of attorney simply signed by the applicant. (We have to submit it simultaneously with the application). Please use form II.

Legalisation is not required in this instance, but only for Hearings before the Tribunals. Then the proper form will be forwarded to you.

4. List of goods and services

5. Classes of the international classification to be covered.

6. If there is any priority the exact date is needed. The Official priority document must be file in the Greek Trade Mark Office within three months after the application date.

6.1. A translation in English, French or German will save cost.

Procedure

The procedure is as follows:

• An application is filed together with a power of attorney.
• A Hearing before the Trade Mark Committee is fixed.
• The Committee examines ex officio both the absolute and the relative bars.
• A letter of consent, affixed with an apostille is acceptable.
• An accepted application is published into the Gazette and a period of four months is provided for filing third party oppositions.
• If no opposition is filed the mark is finally registered.
• If the application is rejected appeal is provided before the Ordinary Tribunal of First Instance, and further before the Appeal Court and before the Cassassion Court.
   

Patents

Requirements for filing a patent application.

For filing a patent application in Greece the following documents are required:

1. The full name, address and nationality of the inventor(s) and the applicant.

2. We have to know the relationship between the applicant and the inventors. If they are employees of the applicant we need a declaration by the applicant affixed with an apostilee attesting to that. If they have assigned their rights upon the patent to the applicant, an assignment document duly signed by both parties and affixed with an apostille is also required.

2.1. The required deed of assignment is prepared in each separate case by us and forward to client.

3. A power of attorney, simply signed and sealed by the applicant, without any legalisation. Please use Form III

4. The priority, country, number and date if any.
Title, description, abstract and claims of the patents.

5. The drawings if any.

 

Designs

Requirements for filing a design application.

For filing a design application in Greece the following documents are required:

1. Name, address and nationality of the designer(s) and the applicant.

2. We have to know the relationship between the applicant and the designers. If they are employees of the applicant we need a declaration by the applicant affixed with an apostilee attesting to that. If they have assigned their rights upon the design to the applicant, an assignment document duly signed by both parties and affixed with an apostille is also required.

1.2. The required deed of assignment is prepared in each separate case by us and forward to client.

3. A power of attorney, simply signed and sealed by the applicant, without any legalization. Please use Form III

4. The Official priority document if any.

4.1. A priority can be claimed within six months from the date of the first application.

5. The title and the International Classification of the design.

6. The description of the design and the drawings or photos.

7. At the moment of filing the drawings, the description and the title of the design and the number and the application date of the first (priority) application is required. There is a four months term from the date of filing the Greek application to complete the file.
